Vintage Abalone Brooch set in sterling silver (unsigned), this piece is just stunning. The abalone has a beautiful patina, the thickness and weight of the brooch is very nice. The clasp is from the 1930s onwards, however, the unmarked silver and extension of the pin beyond the setting suggests this is a much older piece that has been repaired.
I would wear this against dark colours to allow the abalone to take centre stage, although worn on a scarf or white shirt would also make this piece zing. A true piece of history, this treasure would be a fantastic addition to any jewellery collection.
